Hi,

Sorry to hear that.

My point was not to say if you do PHP, will not get outsourced. Rather it is to say that PHP is widely used in small and medium sized projects, by small and medium sized businesses ... they tend not to outsource and they tend to prefer working with local talent.

... I pointed that out in the article I linked to.

I am looking for a template that allows a site admin to login to a webpage and manage an image gallery. The images would be displayed on the front end of the using html/css. does anyone know a good place to start?

If you are on a Mac and the Flash keeps crashing ... I know, I know ... it's a known issue.

No wonder Jobs doesn't allow Flash on iOS!!

Anyway, just reload the page.

what a laughable article...exactly what would be expected from lame "I can do this!" php programmers...

firstly, its a bit obvious GOOGLE trafic for 'php' is enormous compared to ruby

* php has been around for much more
* php is the default web language, anyone wanting to have a take on php, doing one search for every single thing they're trying to do
* rails was launched in 2004, with a considerable maturity on 2.3.5
* rails users are more savvy, we know where our content is

now let's try some relevancy, instead of google, jobtrends
absolute: http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=ruby+on+rails%2C+php&l=
the grap is WAY smaller, also, notice PHP doesnt have a consistent grow, and notice the big fall in jan 11....beautiful!

better yet, look at 'relative' http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=ruby+on+rails%2C+php&l=&relative=1

just look at it! lol!!! really, look at it, I don't even need to say anything else, you should delete this post, man

Hi,

Dreamweaver's code generating tools are really best suited for either:

1. prototypes.
2. very small app development.

I was writing a book on this for a major publisher for DW CS4 and stopped part of the way through partly because it was clear that Adobe wasn't going to do much on this end.

... It was also known that it was and is clearly understand that the code generators are very limited.

If you want to get into real PHP, try other IDE's or just use DW's code editor + a few macros.

I cannot seem to find any info on this online but my DreamWeaver CS4 and a trial of DreamWeaver CS5 both create PHP and SQL queries that are loaded with syntax errors. I use XAMPP on my computer as I have done for years, and it works fine with phpMyAdmin and Komodo Edit. DreamWeaver has been a nifty app to quickly knock out simple applications in that past, but now I spend too much time manually correcting syntax errors in PHP page queries.

Has anyone there heard of a fix for this? Several other web developers have told me that they entirely abandoned DW CS* series and moved on to other IDE's rather than try to fix the problem.
